Sorry for delay between blogs but we’ve been exhausted….in good ways. Plus, our access to stable and strong internet has been erratic to non-existent. Our exit from Seward took us through more breathtaking scenery incl some backtracking to Anchorage. We settled into Mtn View RV Park in Palmer with just a few hours before loading…

Lots of pictures in this post. Put above set in wrong spot but don’t know how to move them. Rest if pics at end of writing. So our last posting left off as we arrived at Cooper Landing, between Talkeetna and Homer. This was, again, a small RV park nestled in between towering peaks and…

Now part of Caravan. Today May 31 in Tok Alaska
So we met up with our Caravan in Prince George BC. We missed the few days in Banff and Jasper but decided we’ll fly back there again some day to tick them off our list. In meantime we had several long travel days ahead to reach Skagway AK. The roads through BC had been very…

Alaska Bound…..In the nick of time
Talk about a cliff hanger! So we left you in the waning hours sitting in the customer lounge at the Freightliner repair center wandering if we still had a prayer of meeting our caravan. Our part arrived Friday morning and our assigned mechanic, Ron, got to work on it about 2 PM. An hour later…

Sidelined AGAIN in Spokane Washington. Destination Alaska looking bleak.
OK, so we left off with looking for a fan clutch that Freightliner said was 4-6 weeks out from re-supply of that part. However, we called our Newmar-Freightliner customer service connection. They handed us off to a parts supplier in SC who had the clutch and said they could overnight it. They did. Our great…

Again, sorry for delay between postings, but have been trying to reduce stress levels. After leaving our oasis in Indio, we had an uneventful trip to Santa Barbara, with tolerable traffic as we passed to the north of LA. 2 relaxing days at SB camp site. A nice walk along the hilly mountainside with gorgeous…

April 8-13, OK – AZ
Well…sorry for going dark for a few days. Has been interesting. Last report had us heading out of Oklahoma to New Mexico with wild fires all around us. In fact, while driving away from our last OK campground, our route took us directly towards a raging wild fire in ferocious winds. Both our phones sounded…

In a fenced-in gravel lot surrounded by cattle pastures….but when you have full hook-ups (FHU’s for you RV folks), life is good no matter where you are. Drove from Branson yesterday during high winds. 350 mile drive required focus to stay in lanes…..Cindy especially enjoyed her stint…
